Choose Permissions
Right after you sign in, Journoo asks for a few permissions on the “Enable permissions” screen. None of them are required, but each one unlocks something useful.
What each permission does
- Notifications lets Journoo deliver gentle reminders and proactive suggestions.
- Location lets you add a location to entries and see them on the Map view in Explore.
- Ad measurement (iPhone) is optional and only tells us if an ad helped you find Journoo.
Grant the ones you want
- Review the permission cards.
- Your phone will show its own permission dialogs one at a time. Choose Allow or Don’t Allow for each.
- Tap Continue when you’re done.
Tip: Allowing notifications switches on a helpful set of default reminders, including morning, evening, and streak nudges. You can fine-tune or turn off any of them later in Settings → Notifications.
Changed your mind later?
Permissions live in your phone’s settings, not in Journoo. Revisit the permissions screen and tap Open Settings on any card, or go straight to your phone’s Settings app.
