Auto Night Vision

Journaling in the dark? Auto Night Vision turns on a dark red theme when you're in the dark. It makes journaling in a dark room easier on your eyes and reduces the light coming from your screen so it's less likely to bother others (like someone trying to sleep next to you). Settings → Auto Night Vision.

How it works

The Night Vision filter switches on when three things are true: 1) Auto Night Vision is toggled on, 2) Journoo is set to the dark theme, and 3) your screen brightness is at or below the threshold you set. The filter is off by default.

Set the threshold

  1. Turn on Auto Night Vision in Settings. A Brightness Threshold slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider to the brightness level you want the filter to turn on below. Default is 25%.
  3. Or tap Set to current brightness in a dark room to use the brightness your phone is currently at.

Note: The filter only turns on while you're using the dark theme. With Theme set to Light it never engages. With System, it depends if your phone's set to dark mode.
