How Do Streaks Work?

Your streak counts the days in a row you’ve journaled. Here’s exactly how it’s counted, and how to fix a gap.

What counts

Finishing an entry counts for the day; drafts don’t. Length doesn’t matter.

When the day rolls over

At your Day ends time, default 4 a.m., so late-night entries count for the day before.

Fix a missed day

Tap the missed day in the streak screen’s week row. It starts a backdated entry; finish it to fix your streak.

You can also change the date of any new entry by tapping on the date. Then you can choose any date in the past you’d like to write about.

Streak alerts

Streak Alerts in Settings → Notifications (off by default) warn you when a streak is at risk. For example, you’ve finished entries for each of the past 5 days but haven’t written an entry today, and it’s already 8 PM.

Hide your streak

Streaks not your thing? The Show Streak toggle in Settings hides all streak displays and also turns off streak notifications. Reversible, and it never affects your count. See Streak Toggle in the Settings section.
