Tips for Better Memory Recall
Journoo builds awareness of the people, places, and themes in your life from how you write about them. Here’s a few tips to make recall noticeably better.
Name people consistently
Call the same person the same thing each time: “Mike” every time, rather than sometimes “Mike,” sometimes “my brother,” sometimes “Michael.” Not required, but it improves the chances Journoo recognizes them as the same person across entries.
Add a little specificity
First mention of someone new? A word of context helps, like “my coworker Dana.” After that, the name alone works when discussing them in similar situations.
Hints help voice transcription
Add names that speech-to-text keeps misspelling to Transcription Hints in Settings, so you don’t have to edit every instance. Especially helpful for people you talk about often.
Distinguish people in groups
Instead of “the girls,” say each person’s name early in an entry as a cue for Journoo to pick up on. Then it understands who you’re talking about throughout the entry.
Finish entries
Summaries, insights, and memory updates come from finished entries. Drafts aren’t visible to Journoo’s memory.
